Tricat is a catering software solution designed specifically to ensure armed forces catering operates as efficiently as possible.

Tricat is already proving instrumental in helping improve the catering efficiency within the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, British Army and the New Zealand Defence Force.


The British Royal Navy has used TRICAT since 1998, where the system has been installed on ruggedised laptops and local area networks across the entire fleet, including shore bases, submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and the supply chain to remote locations.

The system also supports the armed forces when on exercise or on military deployment. With TRICAT, the accuracy of Out of Barracks catering has been improved significantly. Historically there would be a tendency for operational locations to over-order, which in-turn led to inefficiencies and extra costs throughout the supply chain, including transport and the need for additional storage facilities. Through TRICAT, the process of ration ordering becomes automated, allowing staff to order only those rations required by the menu cycle based upon numbers to feed. 



TRICAT is a site-deployed solution with the ability to cover the full range of catering activities from stock management, supply chain procurement, recipe and menu planning, kitchen production, sales and meal uptakes and full financial and performance reporting.



TRICAT also has powerful reporting capabilities, designed to match and enhance the specific needs of military catering activities, and covering many special accounting policies including Daily Messing Rates (DMR), endurance capabilities and nutrition. The system is also used to support the catering activities in Pay as You Dine environments (PaYD), either operated by in house military catering teams or serviced from outside contractors.
