Training Services

Training needs to fit in with the overall project plan. All too often, training is seen as a simple task of arranging a one or two day course, whereas in reality it is sometimes the only real contact day to day users of your staff get clear space to learn new routines and practises. Training needs will vary, depending upon who the audience is, and what level of training is being imparted.

Managers will need training in use of reports, and an overview of system capabilities, whilst day to day users will need specific hands-on practise at data input and system processing routines. All users may need training in terms of changes to business processes and project objectives.

FDH can offer training at our specially equipped Training School in Sheffield, Whirlowbrook Hall. Originally a family home, Whirlowbrook Hall retains a style and elegance that complements its beautiful and tranquil parkland setting which is conducive to the learning environment. Here, client specific courses can be run for up to 6 delegates at a time, each with hands on use of their own workstation, and with dedicated support from an FDH trainer. A client database can be used to ensure familiarity with data and system processes. Training will be phased in with the overall project timescales, as little benefit arises from training too early in the overall plan. So users may be trained in simpler system handling skills and then allowed to practise these back on their own site, before receiving training in more complex operational routines.

FDH can also support training on client sites, where suitable facilities exist. But we resist the invitation to "train" on live systems in a catering department - as the environment rarely offers a peaceful and conducive place to think clearly about new practises and procedures!
