Derby City Council takes control of Nutrition

Derby City has recently selected FDH for the installation of Saffron Nutrition to analyse their school meals offer.

Derby City already offered a varied and balanced menu selection as part of their School Meal Initiative but it became apparent that they needed additional control and Management to ensure high nutritional standards. One of the ways it is doing this is by setting minimum national nutritional standards for lunches for pupils in their schools.

This is where Saffron will help by analysing the menu cycle for both cost and nutritional content, and then monitoring to defined guidelines, including the Caroline Walker Trust. The Council has been looking to nutritionally analyse menus for some time and Saffron provides the perfect solution. When compared with other systems, they discovered that one of Saffron’s main advantages was its ease of use, and FDH's excellent after sales service meant that implementation of the system was smooth and painless!
