FDH Signs Deal To Expand Product Range

1st February 2007

Hospitality software systems provider Fretwell-Downing Hospitality (FDH) has signed a reseller agreement with Expolink Europe Ltd to supply a range of portable hand-held management information devices.

Designed specifically for hospitality and facilities managers, the devices cut time and costs by eradicating a large proportion of paper-based recording and duplication of work by enabling users to input data into the hand-held device that can then be uploaded onto PCs or central systems.

The solutions, which will be marketed by FDH under the Saffron brand, cover specific tasks such as:

Saffron Inspect – a handheld device for quality, auditing and inspection purposes, acting as a checklist for paper-based tasks such as health and safety, COSHH and HACCP standards.

Saffron Asset – for managing assets within each office or operating site with the facility to record the history of each asset, its status, condition and location.

Saffron Cascade - designed specifically for recording policy and compliance, from induction procedures, through to document management and company bulletins.

The products complement FDH’s existing management information systems and will provide a further valuable aid to the hospitality and facilities management sectors in boosting the efficiency of recording and data interpretation even further.

FDH sales director Andrew Markwell commented: “This is a significant step for FDH with the addition of three new products under the Saffron brand. The products have a synergy with our systems, all of which are aimed at reducing time and costs by simplifying the paper chasing and task of reporting information.

“The Expolink products have a great reputation and will suit our core customer base within the contract catering, education, military, local authority and hospital sectors.”

Expolink, a market leader in the supply of hand-held monitoring software, has already secured 40% of the market within the National Health Service, and supplies many of the leading contract cleaning companies.

Scott Bridgen, channel manager for Expolink explains: “FDH is a software expert within the hospitality and catering sectors, with a range of products that complements Expolink’s. It therefore made sense to strike an agreement that will make available more tools to help businesses drive out inefficiencies even further.”
