Fretwell-Downing Hospitality Limited – FDH – is a privately owned business based in Sheffield, UK. We develop and market software for the hospitality industry, and as we employ many people with catering and hospitality backgrounds, we truly do understand that technology must help the catering and food service business process and not hinder it.

Our catering heritage ensures that we retain a service based culture when working with our customers, but it also affords us in-depth knowledge of how the catering and hospitality industry itself works in real day to day terms. Controlling large-scale and multi-site catering operations is not simple, and the unique environment of food means that it cannot be done using standard stock or retail management software.

Any technology investment has to be supported by a business case, and clear evidence exists in scores of cases where payback for effective implementations has been impressively short. All caterers face margin challenges, whether they operate in low budget tight margin cost orientated sites or high margin competitive high street environments. FDH can help in all those areas!

Our systems are used across literally thousands of sites, mostly in the UK but also spread on an international basis, embracing corporate users such as Ministry of Defence, The National Trust, Bhs Stores, and Aramark, through to hundreds of individual organisations each focusing on their own local cost and revenue management challenges.
